About

The name "Nan Yue Antiques Shop" might seem a bit confusing at first glance, but it's actually quite simple: it's an antique shop, and the owner's name is Nan Yue. It has absolutely nothing to do with the place called South Vietnam-a region that was once ravaged by war and has since become the largest source of refugees. "Nan" is not a very common surname, but it's not particularly rare either. Nan Yue's ancestors ran an antique shop in northern China, and he, too, entered the business-one might say he was influenced by his family. However, his approach to running an antique business is unlike that of any other antique shop in the world. He never solicits customers and, of course, does not advertise; even when customers do walk in, he pays them little attention. Only when he deems a visitor to be someone with a genuine understanding of antiques will he deign to receive them. Otherwise, it is likely that any customer who walks in would be unable to tolerate his haughty, disdainful demeanor-and would storm out before he even has a chance to snort "hmph" three times.
