Brussels in the late summer of 2024: Inspector Marcel Vermeylen receives an unusual visitor - the notary Dominique de Lasteyrie hands him a letter from the English tabloid journalist Trevor Chesterfield, who has died under mysterious circumstances. Marcel discovers that Trevor had been blackmailing numerous members of the Brussels establishment, threatening to reveal their juicy secrets.
