About
They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and for much of my life, that seems to be my story. My childhood was simple, growing up in a small Arizona desert town. Until a move to California as a teenager changed the trajectory of my life. I marched to the beat of my own drum, acting grown before my time. I made choices that led me down some difficult paths, searching for fulfillment in the wrong places.
Through seasons of heartbreak, setbacks, and constant movement, I learned a hard truth: wherever you go, there you are; it's impossible to run from yourself. Beneath the smiles and outward strength, I fought silent battles for my sanity, peace, purpose, and healing. I thought change would never come until I surrendered to God's grace and began to transition out of darkness and into his marvelous light.
Something Like a Butterfly is a story of hope for anyone who has ever felt lost, stuck, ashamed, or unworthy of a second chance. It reminds us that even through the darkest seasons, like the caterpillar, there's purpose in the cocoon. God uses our struggles to transform us into something beautiful.
