About
Julian escapes the hellish, violent, drug devastated hovel of a home to his dream life with a wealthy middle-class couple in their palatial house on the right side of the tracks. But the dream becomes yet another nightmare when Julian finds his foster father can't stand the sight of him and makes his every waking hour a misery. The reason is unbridled racial prejudice, pure and simple...because Julian is Hispanic-and his foster father a proud African American. Through scenes of shocking brutality and touching warmth, peopled by characters of both profound ignorance and admirable understanding, Moore leads us towards a place where, perhaps, nightmares end and dreams begin at last.
