Here is a book, haunting and rapturous, compelling and tender, and above all, memorable. SOME SURVIVE, TRIUMPH OVER TEARS is an apt narration of survival amidst confounding odds. Sharon Wahl's debut book explores the ache, misery, and abandonment that comes with domestic abuse, sexual assault, abortion, adoption, and toxic masculinity.
When Sharon, aged 15, becomes a teenage mom to an adorable girl, she is elated to spend the rest of her life with her boyfriend and newborn daughter. However, things take an ugly turn when her once charming sweetheart takes the role of an abuser, making Sharon's life a living hell. It's with her incessant bravery and faith in God that she manages to break free from the instances of abuse, creating a loving and safe life for herself and her daughter Jennifer. The introduction of John in the book assures of the fact that no matter how miserable life gets, one can still find the right person and fall in love again.
In deeply upsetting yet resplended prose, the author has seamlessly unfolded a tale of tragedy, trauma, abuse, love, and healing. Searingly honest and powerful, the book will surely leave an enduring imprint on the readers' minds.
