Tate McMahon owns just about every last inch of the town of Bedrock. And he's fixin' on buying up the few remaining bits before too long-including one right fine piece of land called the S Bar J, owned by a young widow named Becky Jamison. Once Tate gets his heart set on something, nothing on God's green earth can keep him from grabbing hold of it...
Except, maybe, the man who's just arrived in Bedrock, a quick shooter named John Slocum. The fastest draw around, Slocum has his own brand of justice-and he's going to see to it that Tate gets a taste of it at the S Bar J.
