Skiddy, a small skid-steer, dreams of being like the bigger machines around him but often falls short, growing discouraged. His friend Hecks, a kind excavator, encourages him to keep going. Nearby, a caterpillar quietly builds a cocoon. When Skiddy is finally given an important job, he accidentally knocks the cocoon over and worries he's ruined it. Later, he finds it safe and watches the caterpillar becomes a butterfly. He realizes that growth takes time and doesn't always look the way you expect. With Hecks beside him and the butterfly in the air, Skiddy finds peace, purpose, and acceptance.
