During a strange period of isolation with the world in shutdown, a volunteer gardener secretly visits Sissinghurst Castle Gardens every Sunday, finding sanctuary there.
Moving between the garden rooms created by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson, the story traces the gardener's day, beautifully evoking the special atmosphere of Sissinghurst.
Vita and Harold make appearances, their presence still felt in this unique, inspiring and very special place.
Accompanied by a personal account from the author of how the story came to be written, Sissinghurst Day is a stunning, striking piece of work, beautifully written, the perfect antidote to the strange times which have afflicted us of late.
