The sister quilters behind Yellow Creek Designs put a fresh twist on American tradition with 13 Civil War-inspired quilts, table runners, and more.
Quilt designers Jill Shaulis and Vicki Olsen have always been drawn to the warm colors of antique quilts and the connection they feel to yesterday's quilters. But while they draw inspiration from tradition, they can't resist putting their own twist on it.
In Simple Blessings in Patchwork, they combine traditional sampler quilt blocks with delightful wool appliqué, hand-worked hexagons, foundation piecing, and more. With their step-by-step instructions, you can explore a variety of techniques as you sew bed quilts, samplers, wallhangings, and table toppers and runners, all with a warm, traditional style.
