Shadows don't fade with time. They whisper, they follow, they carry us home.
When sixteen-year-old Aspen James's quiet world collides with the sudden disappearance of classmate Brinlie, every unspoken fear comes rushing to the surface. Together with Brinlie's friends, Aspen is drawn into a search stitched together by cryptic sketches, half-truths, and the weight of secrets no one dares to name.
But Aspen carries shadows of her own-anxiety, silence, the intrusive thoughts that twist reality into something fragile and strange. To bring Brinlie back, Aspen must confront not only the darkness in her town but the one that whispers within.
Both mystery and meditation, Shadows We Carry is a story of friendship, mental illness, and the quiet courage it takes to be seen.
