While still a teenager, Samuel French published his first stage play, which is still performed today. He is a graduate of the UCLA Film School. While at UCLA he won the Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award for Screenplay, which established his career. He took on rewrite and script doctoring assignments and wrote screenplays, including the script for the Peter O'Toole film, The Seventh Coin. He maintained an office on the lot of Paramount Studios where he was an independent development executive and film financier.
