Ayla has spent her entire life walking the tightrope between worlds. As a multiracial girl growing up in a world that loves to put people in boxes, she's constantly shifting between identities, trying to be enough for everyone--and losing herself in the process. At school, she's too "different" to fit in. At home, she's safe and loved but still yearns for acceptance from her peers. Torn between cultures, overlooked by teachers, and targeted by classmates who see her as "other," Ayla learns to shrink herself to survive.
But when a painful moment of rejection pushes her to the edge, Ayla turns to the one place she's always felt a flicker of peace--her faith. Through prayer, reflection, and a growing relationship with God, she begins to find strength she didn't know she had. Slowly, Ayla stops hiding and starts speaking for others who've been overlooked, cast aside, or labeled "different."
Along the way, Ayla uncovers unexpected allies that reshape her world. With every twist and turn, she learns that being a light doesn't mean being perfect--it means showing up, standing firm, and letting God's love shine through her.
See Me is a powerful and emotional journey of identity, transformation, faith, courage, and love. Inspired by true events, with twists and turns at every corner, this emotionally rich novel is about finding your voice, owning your story, and helping others feel seen in a world that often looks the other way.
