There had been five clues in all. If Maggie believed what she read, she needed to take steps to save her own skin and protect the lives of her friends, all while searching for more clues in the United Kingdom, where her biological mother had lived. A mother she had never seen in person or in a photograph. She had no idea who her biological father had been., but she intended to find him, too and get some answers.
And now, with her adoptive parents dead, the maid dead, her husband dead, and Solicitor Clarke dead, someone was coming after her.
Clue No. Five: The monster has left New Aylesford and is headed your way. You must get to Stone Castle before the monster gets to you, find the next clue, solve the mystery, and stake your rightful claim. Remember, you must get to New Aylesford before the monster discovers your whereabouts, takes your life, and steals your fortune. All must be resolved before All Hallows' Eve, lest the dark night, void of light, seal your fate. The monster has promised the deed would be done by then. Hurry! The clock is ticking.
Still reeling from what she'd learned about her mother, Maggie felt weak, frightened, anxious and curious. But spiritually, she felt buoyed up and strong enough to spend the night in a den of lions. She may be stepping onto a battlefield-but she would not be alone. Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13 NLT).
The journey to and through Stone Castle will have you at the edge of your seat, rooting for the good guys-and wondering who the real bad guys are. Not all things are as they appear to be.
