Book no. 44: Japan, 1281
Mission objective: Napoleon is going back to 13th Century Japan, to the second Mongol invasion by Kublai Khan. But he is in for a huge shock - he is not going alone. His father Captain Smythe is going with him. In the most staggering revelation of the series, we discover that Captain Smythe was a Battle Boy almost 40 years ago! To protect the identity of his military sources, very little can be revealed about Charlie Carter. We can, however, say this: he is a well known operative in the field of children's books.
