This collection from the V&A museum shows embroidered samples from different countries around the world dating back to 15th century right up to the 19th century. This book is for anyone interested in samples, embroidery and the history of this widespread domestic cult. The book was originally published in 1926. Many of the earliest books on weaving, textiles and needlework, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
