When rookie detective Connor Briggs is pulled back into the field after medical leave, he doesn't expect his first case to unravel the fragile threads holding his sanity together. At a blood-soaked crime scene, he finds a journal-hand-stitched leather, inked in torment-left behind like a taunt. Its author: Victor Graves, a man whose words read like scripture written by madness itself. Each entry digs deeper into a mind obsessed with control, pain, and the beauty of a well-executed kill-beginning with the murder of his first love, Elizabeth, in 1988.
As Connor, Agents Hernandez, and Jackson piece together the journal's horrific trail, they realize this isn't just documentation. It's an invitation. And it's personal. Twisted affection blooms in the chaos-love found where it shouldn't be, where blood and obsession muddy the lines between passion and control.
But in Victor's world, affection is a weapon and every revelation comes with a price. The deeper they go, the more Connor wonders: is he hunting a monster... or becoming one? What they find...is not what the hoped for.
