After a mysterious heist at the Moonstone Tower, the Defenders must track down a dark wizard to retrieve a set of powerful artifacts. After the magical rules of their world become altered by an arcane experiment, their journey takes them through haunted castles, past glittering underground cities and even into a magical tower in the clouds. Through it all, they have to navigate the new boundaries and limits of their refracted magic.
