Sasha Taqsseblu LaPointe, a Coast Salish indigenous woman, has always longed for a sense of home. As a child, her family moved around frequently, often staying in barely habitable church attics and trailers, dangerous places for young Sasha. As an adolescent who was determined to escape the poverty and abuse of her childhood and build a better future for herself and her people, Sasha throws herself headlong into the world.
