About
Irene Polson was born and raised on and around Western American racetracks. Both her deceased parents had been track followers. When she was old enough, she became a jockey. A bad fall and the resulting injury caused her to lose her nerve, so now she was just a groom. She cared for racehorses, cleaning them and their stalls and seeing to their well-being. One of her charges was cruelly overworked earlier one morning, and it took hours to get IM Do N My Best to recover.
