About The Author Helen Fogarty, I grew up in Dublin, Ireland. I immigrated to the U.S. in the 90's. Living in Chicago I bought my first dog, a dachshund, Quigley. He changed my life with his supernatural love and warmth. He was like a ray of sunshine and definitely became my best friend. I then got a rescue dog Katie in Colorado, followed by another rescue, Skibby, in Utah. Quigley, Katie and Skibby made my heart full and were the biggest blessing in my life.Acknowledgement I would like to thank my late parents Jim and Mary Fogarty, my late sister Rita, and my late husband David Jawgiel. I would also like to thank my sister Joan Fogarty for being my biggest pillar of strength.
