In her mid-fifties, Letha Brandenburg has everything she ever wanted-a loving husband and family, a beautiful home, and a meaningful career and thriving business. But her put-together life hides long-buried hurt. Abandoned by her mother at the tender age of thirteen, Letha has spent a lifetime coping with the heartache of rejection through codependency and a need for control. When a longtime friendship unexpectedly ends, it triggers an identity crisis, sending Letha spiraling into depression and forcing her to face the roots of pain from her past.
Determined to deal with her emotional suffering, Letha, through study and prayer, receives a word to guide her through the coming year: redeem-to buy back, to recover, to make good. Though she can't change the past, Letha revisits her traumatic teen years in the hopes of healing her present and future. With the help of her four "redeeming ladies" and her counselor, Letha embarks on a journey to weed out the shame that has stunted her self-worth and embrace the transforming power of truth, grace, and time.
Pulling up Dandelions gives the reader an authentic and deeply vulnerable look into life's painful stories. Letha's hope-filled memoir offers living proof that it's never too late to redeem what was lost.
