An angel forbidden to feel. A vampire who shouldn't exist. A cosmic conspiracy a thousand years in the making.
Lucy is an Archivist of Heaven. For over a millennium, she has cataloged mortal lives with clinical precision. But when she discovers a clerical error-a man marked deceased by an Archangel's hand who is still very much alive-the perfection of the Archives shatters. Driven by a curiosity that Heaven forbids, Lucy breaks the ultimate rule and falls to Earth to find him.
Noah Fisher is a biological impossibility. A twenty-four-year-old nursing student and a vampire who walks freely beneath the sun, Noah is a glitch in the supernatural design. More than that, he's marked as deceased in Heaven's Archives, hunted by demonic forces, and entirely unaware of the cosmic machinery closing in around him.
When the angel and the outlier collide, they trigger a tether that cannot be broken. As a charcoal-shadowed Dreamwalker begins invading their minds and a demon professor starts pulling their strings, the mystery of Noah's existence reveals a terrifying truth: Heaven is lying.
In the rain-slicked streets of Calloway, Oregon, where the line between celestial and demonic grows dangerously thin, Lucy and Noah must navigate two sides of a world entirely unfamiliar to them. Surrounded by Fae playing at mortality and demons watching from the shadows, Noah and Lucy must team up to untangle a deadly truth before the ancient trap surrounding them snaps shut.
