Every child, at every age, needs a parent who prays for them, and every parent needs somewhere to bring the weight of that responsibility.
Praying Over Your Children exists because prayer for a child shouldn't run dry the moment a formula fails or an answer takes years to arrive. This book gives you scripture to pray at every stage, from the crib through adulthood, and covers seasons other prayer books skip over: unanswered prayer, cultural pressure on teenagers, addiction, estrangement, and a grown child who no longer shares your faith. You'll get prayers you can pray as written or shape into your own words, paired with scripture chosen for what your child is actually facing right now.
The 84 reflection questions in this book help you identify what you're carrying for your child and bring it directly before God, instead of praying in vague terms that never quite reach what's actually weighing on you.
If you put into practice what Praying Over Your Children teaches, you'll: • Build a daily prayer habit that survives a full schedule and a tired mind • Pray scripture directly over your child, whatever their age • Set down guilt that was never yours to carry • Find words for the hardest seasons of parenting, including the ones no one warned you about
Maybe you've prayed for your child before and stopped when nothing seemed to change. This book gives you a way to keep praying that doesn't depend on seeing results on your timeline, because it's built on who God is rather than what He does on your schedule. Maybe you feel like a hypocrite bringing your child's struggles to God when you're not sure how much of this is your fault. This book walks you through what scripture actually says about where your responsibility ends and your child's choices begin, so you can stop carrying guilt that was never yours. Maybe you're not sure prayer changes anything beyond how you feel in the moment. This book shows you what scripture promises prayer accomplishes, and what it doesn't, so you can pray with honest expectations instead of either false confidence or quiet despair.
