Pittman Creek

Pittman Creek follows Darnell Barker growing up poor in a rural setting in Northwest Florida. He is born with a club foot and the novel deals with his overcoming adversity and ridicule and his journey and adventures into manhood. His star crossed love affair with the rich girl on the hill, culminating in Darnell’s combat experiences at the Battle of Iwo Jima. It is a moving and poignant portrayal of life in these troubling times and overcoming all the odds.

Pittman Creek is a coming of age novel that spans the era from 1922 to 1946 from the Depression, Prohibition and through WW2.
