The quest for hope is the driving force of religion today. The Christian movement is entering a new era of smaller companionships, mutual mentoring, and social service. The Pilgrim Band emerging around the world is a fluid, flexible, mobile, highly committed, and mutually accountable group of spiritual travelers earnestly seeking the immanence of God.
Existential anxieties are motivating people in all cultures and careers to seek mentors who can help them discern meaning and purpose in their lives. This is as true for emerging generations, alienated from institutional religion, as it is for older generations, disillusioned by corporate organizations. The Pilgrim Band is a non-institutional, non-professional alternative to the established church. It thrives both physically and virtually across the secular and sacred boundaries of societies.
In Pilgrim Band: Our Shared Quest for Meaning and Purpose, readers will join the Pilgrim Band on its rediscovery of these ancient methods of maturation. Such a quest for meaning and purpose leads toward a perfect alignment of the heartbeat of one's soul--through a heart burst for the lifestyle mosaic of the world--with the heart song that fulfills one's life. Ultimately, this quest of hope leads to a destination of joy.
