Billy was awarded a Tartan Clef by Nordoff Robbins for his contribution to the music industry and became the first journalist to be inducted into the Barrowland Hall of Fame. As a broadcaster he hosted a ground-breaking alternative new music show for Radio Clyde for 23 years and currently hosts his own show for BBC Radio Scotland. Legendary music journalist Billy Sloan has been described as the John Peel of Scotland. He has interviewed musical icons and helped to launch the careers of huge international stars like Simple Minds and Lloyd Cole, all through his brilliant radio show and newspaper columns.
