It's the summer of 1956. Stella, aged twelve, friends Jimmie and Robbie, both nine, and Spot the dog are on holiday with their parents in a typical English seaside town. The children are unaware that their lives are about to change forever, when they accidentally come into possession of a briefcase full of stolen jewellery, and enter an adult world of danger and intrigue.
