Set in the 1960's on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, where Doris and her husband Garry now live, this story follows the exploits of nine cousins who are buzzing with energy and always keen to seek adventures. Their exuberance is infectious as you are swept along from one escapade to another.
Doris is one of the nine cousins and was inspired to write about her memories of playing with her siblings and cousins during her own childhood. She blends fond and wistful moments, with creative imagination in her story-telling.
She wanted to recreate the joy of having free reign for fun, the spontaneity of young children playing and hanging out together, along with the wonderful freedom that comes with spending time outdoors.
Back then the cousins got up to high jinks without the technological necessities of many children's lives now, in computer games and the all-important mobile phone...and amazingly they all survived, and nobody's world came to an end!
