Seaside life was supposed to be simple: lazy mornings, romantic dinners and long walks with her new husband. But for Milly Miller, simplicity remains a distant dream. Instead, she's juggling a sarcastic 200-year-old talking cat, an impulsive plan to buy a Brighton cafe, and – of course – the small matter of another suspicious death. When a controlling fiancé suddenly drops dead, Milly's swept into a tangled web of antiques, unsettling family secrets, and a clan of not-so-scary vampires – including one who faints at the sight of blood. Add magical recipes, Halloween chaos and a cafe overflowing with gossip, and it's safe to say her midlife isn't calming down anytime soon. With magic simmering, trouble brewing, and romance stirring in unexpected places, Milly must untangle a web of secrets before the truth – and the vampires – bite back.Full of warmth, wit, and magical mischief, Once Bitten, Twice Pie is the third deliciously fun instalment of the Milly's Magical Midlife series. I hail from Liverpool, lived in London, and now stay on the soggy west coast of Scotland with my third husband. Most days I long for sunnier climes but cheer myself up with chocolate.
