A chance encounter on a train sparks a love story that defies time and distance. Lady Martha Buford, traveling to Spain with her determined mother, Dame Buford-who is intent on securing a prosperous marriage for her daughter-finds herself longing for something more than duty and tradition.
At the bustling train station, American airman Wolf Kelley is instantly captivated by Martha. Before he can devise a way to approach her, Martha takes fate into her own hands, setting their story in motion with the simple drop of her purse.
Their connection deepens quickly, but their time together is cut short when Anthony Chadwick, an ambitious English aristocrat, intervenes with his own sinister designs. Torn apart, Martha and Wolf cling to the memory of their stolen kiss, even as life pulls them in opposite directions.
Back in America, Wolf retreats to his mountain home and builds a lodge, but cannot shake thoughts of the woman who changed his heart. Across continents and through the passage of years, unforeseen twists and dangerous adversaries-including the ruthless Nash Nelson-conspire to keep them apart.
With the help of loyal friends, Wolf and Martha battle forces both past and present in a struggle to reclaim their love. But as secrets unravel and new threats emerge, they must fight for their second chance-before time runs out.
