Old Liberty is a dark humored coming-of-age novel set within a fictional college and one of its fraternities. Told through the sharp, earnest and restless voice of Redwine Walker, it explores the themes of friendship, loyalty, identity, and the search for meaning as the main characters test the limits of freedom and social belonging. What begins as ritual and fellowship slowly reveals something more existential: the cost of tradition and nuanced boundaries of growing up and losing yourself. Steeped in philosophy and academic truth, Marshall Terry's first novel captures the moment when youth realize life can't stay carefree forever.
