About

Twenty-five-year-old BJ Wells has had enough of her controlling father and the work on their sprawling family ranch. Determined to carve out her own life, she launches into a computer search for a professional position in a big city. But when a mysterious hacker sends an ominous message into one of her many job searches with the cryptic threat--"Stop now, or you will pay"--BJ refuses to back down.Against her better judgement, she presses on and finally lands the dream job she's worked so hard to secure but finds herself the target of a chilling obsession.Shadowed by a brilliant but twisted classmate who's been watching her every move, BJ's world spirals into a nightmare propelled by a stalker who plots, abducts, and confines her in his ornate villa. With one chance to send a secret distress signal, she must outwit a captor who knows her darkest fears--and will stop at nothing to possess her entirely. Will her ingenuity and courage shatter the walls of her gilded prison? . . . or will she become the final piece of his desires? Kent Alston's role in the federal government, along with his personal life experiences, took him to many cities and places across the United States. Over several decades, he encountered a wide range of individuals--some ordinary, others far from it. His background as an auditor/investigator, and report writer sharpened his ability to observe the complexities of human behavior. Combined with his passion for suspense, mystery, and inspirational genres, as well as his Christian faith, he began to reflect deeply on the spiritual forces--good and evil--that influence and shape our world. This reflection led to a surprising epiphany that inspired him to write his first novel, an inspirational work entitled: From There In Eternity, which is now out of print. Years later, Kent developed an even deeper interest in the suspense and mystery genres, which culminated in his recent work, Obsession. Drawing from years of encounters with diverse people and situations, as well as insights gained from his first novel, he crafted a story that engaged the five senses and the unnerving sixth sense so essential to suspense. Through this approach, he created distinctive characters, including a formidable arch-villain; a complex antagonist whose troubling and disturbing psychopathy drives the narrative. While Kent's work is fictional, it reflects a fragment of society that is very real and at times, frightening.
