Noe -The Harmless-
Who in this world expects to see a well-behaved child turn into a cold-blooded monster? And how many wonder how frightening it can be for a good-hearted being to grow up amidst cruelty and dysfunction? How often do we witness the tragic outcomes of keeping innocent youth living in silent desperation today? Are we blind to the causes of such outcomes or can we instead see the massive tragedies approaching, still having time to prevent them?
Can love, empathy, and understanding save us all from loss and heartbreak? This is a thought worth considering.
After spending his life trying to please God, his parents, and the rest of the world, Noe, the main character of this novel, finds himself questioning the worth of his sacrifices. Having been repeatedly victimized by the cruelty of those around him, Noe devises a theory of redemption that drives him to take actions fueled by a desperate need to change the person he has always been. A mentor, whose concept of redemption is based on war, enters his life and introduces him... to one of the many dark worlds that exist in the minds of humanity.
*Noe - The Harmless* is a powerful story inspired by true events. It highlights the common adversities people face when holding onto good human values. It explores the high price of being good-hearted and well-intentioned in a world where such qualities seem to matter little. A world, in need of a wake-up call to the often painful reality of thousands of good kids whom society assumes need no attention, simply because they possess good values and do not get into trouble at school, on the streets, or at home.
Noe's story is told through the eyes of Samar, his younger brother, who witnessed these events unfold firsthand.
