Net DelusionsBy M.T. StacheraIn the age of misinformation, who gets to be the heroand who ends up the meme?Alonso Quijano is no ordinary digital conspiracy theorist. In his cluttered apartment, buried under printed articles, half-eaten takeout, and annotated Reddit threads, he has reinvented himself as Sir Algorithmica self-declared knight of online truth, sworn to battle the forces of digital deception. Armed with a laptop and the kind of confidence only total isolation can produce, Alonso embarks on a keyboard crusade against the algorithms, influencers, and corporate titans warping reality itself. But when he lands an unlikely gig as co-host of the podcast Sanity Check, Alonso is forced to contend with Sanchoa dry, skeptical moderator who believes in logic, fact-checking, and maybe even therapy. Their dynamic is part debate, part performance art, and part psychological tug-of-war.As their fame grows, so does the chaos. Alonso becomes a magnet for trolls, truthers, and shadowy online enemies. The lines between persona and person begin to blur. With each viral episode, each digital windmill he charges, Alonso risks losing the one thing even his most outrageous theories can't explain: himself.A modern reimagining of Don Quixote for the disinformation age, Net Delusions is a darkly comic, emotionally raw exploration of identity, obsession, and the intoxicating power of self-invented truth. At once satirical and sobering, it questions not just what we believebut why we need to believe at all.
