A man keeps a horseshoe crab in his bathtub while his wife is in Colorado trying not to die. His daughter insists the horseshoe crab talks to her. He's preoccupied with the blonde who keeps a corkscrew on her keychain and is ruining his life in the best possible way. A cook at his favourite Thai restaurant weeps into his apron. We are always running out of spoons.
Set amongst the strip malls and abandoned lifeguard towers of South Florida, My Terminal Molt follows a man who sees one thing so brilliantly that everything around it goes dark. He calls this lateral inhibition. The horseshoe crab calls it something else entirely.
My Terminal Molt is part love story, part grief spiral, and part marine biology lecture that has gone beautifully and irreversibly wrong.
