About

Who Was Muff Potter?
Muff Potter had a minor starring role in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, by Mark Twain. But once Tom saved Muff from hanging, Muff Potter completely disappeared from history. Until now.
Two years ago Carl Wells accidentally discovered a hand-written untitled manuscript in the St. Petersburg, Missouri Public Library. It had been written by Muff Potter in the late 1840s. Though carefully protected by generations of St. Petersburg librarians, the manuscript had never been published.
With the permission and encouragement of head librarian Mrs. Janice Thurmond, Carl Wells has edited Muff Potter's book, and has given it the title Muff Potter After the Trial.
We know a good deal more about Muff Potter now.
