Carly Bennett saw more of her father after he passed than she ever had while he was alive...
As the elder daughter of Mitch Bennett, Carly's life has never been easy. Abandoned by her father, forced to care for a mother who suffers from addiction, Carly can't wait to leave town for good. The only thing that could ever lure her back home to Stillwater is her beloved little sister Liv's news that their father has passed away. Carly wants quick closure, so she can get back to life far from her small hometown and her painful past.
The only problem? Mitch's ghost isn't ready to rest yet. From eerie appearances to frightening hauntings in her hotel room, Carly realizes her dead father is determined to have her uncover family secrets and confront dysfunctions the family wants to keep buried. No matter how Carly tries to pretend otherwise, Mitch simply won't leave her alone until she brings to light what has been kept hidden-secrets, lies, deceit, conspiracy theories, unwanted pregnancies ... and maybe even murder.
Can Carly settle her father's disturbing specter and find closure for herself before she loses her mind? Or will the ghosts of agonizing family ties and past trauma burden her forever?
When dark secrets and painful family memories entwine, the past can't help but come back to haunt you... Muddy Water keeps readers guessing what sordid, painful family secrets will come to light next.
