About

Using poetry and essays, the destructive effects of drugs and alcohol on a person's life are presented as a warning of what could happen to those who might use and as an inspiration to those who want to heal. Without judgement or intolerance, a look at the why of addiction is shared. There can be life after addiction, but it comes with a price. Mrs. Helen Lemus is a poet, blogger and writer who enjoys writing non-fiction articles about film, books and fine art. Since the age of sixteen, many moons ago, Mrs. Lemus has been known to work at a pizza place, a hospital, a chapel, a retail store or two and in the military. Her love for writing is only surpassed by her joy for life. Her ambition is to help one person have the courage to embrace his personal freedom and succeed at what he really wants. That person is her husband. She lives with him and two very spoiled cats in a fixer-upper in a suburb of a beach town.
