After losing her father to illness, schoolteacher Rebecca Over seeks an escape from a stagnant life in small-town Ohio by traveling to Botswana's spectacular Okavango Delta. As her journey takes farther away from civilization, she is awed by both the violence and the beauty of the African wilderness.
