Everyone suffers-it is perhaps what binds people together more than anything else. It is also the reason that many people do not believe in God or embrace a God who cannot or will not prevent the suffering! So, why must we suffer? It is a question that must be asked. Job, a man who "was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil," (Job 1:1) suffered more than most people, and he asked God the same question.
