An epic journey of a frightened 10 year old girl who escaped the South China's poverty in 1863. With the help from her brother they pursue their father who selfishly fled to the United States of America after selling off everything of value to pay his passage across the Pacific to chase down a dream of making it rich in Idaho City, Idaho. One of the biggest gold producing towns of the American Northwest.
As the dawn of the American Wild West era closed in, the naive child meets people from different races and cultures, forcing her to face turmoil and challenges far beyond her imagination and exceeded her expectations. Leaving Ming Su to learn that China is no longer her home and she must take every precaution possible to protect herself from the known fact that she was even more valuable to the skin trade abductors pursuing her than the gold that her father sought. Forcing her to carefully navigate through life. Ming Su's journey from childhood to womanhood rapidly unfolded.
