Mayfield

Coming of age in the rugged Coast Ranges of Central California in the 1880s. Life will never be the same for eleven-year-old Mayfield Wells after the death of his mother. Caught between his unreliable, grief-stricken father and an estranged grandfather with plans of his own for his grandson, Mayfield is forced to grow up quickly as he accepts more responsibilities on the homestead.
