Readers are able to identify different materials and describe them with the help of achievable text that introduces them to this essential elementary science curriculum topic. Clear and relatable examples are included in both the main text and in the colorful photographs that fill the pages. A useful glossary is also included to define unfamiliar terms and build vocabulary skills. Simple diagrams provide visual aids, and clear labels on diagrams and photographs allow young readers to practice obtaining information from sources beyond the main text.
