Mary's Sword stems from the passage of Luke 2:35. Simeon speaks a prophetic word over Mary, the mother of Jesus, "Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also." This story is a fictional account of what Mary experienced during the execution of her Son, Jesus of Nazareth. One of the soldiers pierced the side of Jesus, a sword also pierced Mary.
