Annalyn: It was the face that got me. He looked so perfect, so trustworthy. Those eyes, like mirrors reflecting silver. If it were any other face, I would've said no, but..."You wanna take a ride?" He'd asked after pulling up to the curb. "Sure. Why not?" I'd said with a shrug. I was still blinking tears from my eyes. That was my formative moment; the moment when my life decided to pause and do a one-eighty, take a completely different path. Because of all my many memories, there was one that I'd never, ever forget. And that was the day I met Jake Soto.

Jake: I'd seen her storming down the sidewalk. For some reason, the way she held her reddened cheek screamed bad news, and it stirred something inside of me. I just had to do something, so I pulled over. "You wanna take a ride?" There was something about that moment that should've warned me. I'd kill for this girl. It was a moment not many people get to experience. So I was lucky in that regard. But still unlucky in the sense that I ever met Annalynn Lee, because that bitch turned my world upside down.
