The watch's previous owner, explorer Jacob Mann, disappeared after documenting the watch's strange properties. Omar and Layla uncover that the Chronometers serve as both prisons and portals for entities that exist in the spaces between reality-beings neither malevolent nor benevolent, but simply "Other."
As a cosmic alignment approaches, Omar joins ten other Keepers across the globe who possess the remaining Chronometers. To prevent a catastrophic breach between dimensions, Omar sacrifices himself to become the Twelfth Keeper-transforming beyond human consciousness to maintain the boundary between worlds.
