Nancy McGaw codifies lessons from the Aspen Institute First Movers Fellowship, an influential network and development program, which for 15 years has helped hundreds of corporate innovators create products, services, and management practices that are good for business and make a positive difference in the world. The stories shared in this book range from the creation of Levi's® sustainability-based Wellthread™ Collection, to the development of tools on LinkedIn which connect businesses with freelance service professionals, to the launch of an eco-friendly engine-cleaning company at Pratt & Whitney. They show how professionals in diverse industries-technology, retail, finance, manufacturing, and more-are imagining how their companies can help tackle complex social and environmental problems.
Combining inspiring stories with practical advice, McGaw reveals how you can start and sustain your own journey toward changing your company and your career.
