"Cali, you have stage 3S B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma."
Gregg Goldman never imagined he would hear these words spoken to his wife after twenty-four years of marriage. The COVID-19 pandemic was already daunting, but at least it was happening outside; this was a crisis occurring directly in his own home, his sanctuary. However, with Cali now too sick to rule the roost, Gregg puts his introverted tendencies aside to deal with the kids, Cali's ever-present family, concerned friends, doctors with way too much on their plate, and a zillion other tasks that may be normal for most but are foreign to a guy who barely likes talking to people. In this emotional and darkly humorous memoir of marriage and self-realization, Gregg falls in love with his wife all over again as she shows incredible strength and vulnerability during a time when the fear of death overshadows the hope for a better future.
