This book is about mastering the art of powerful communication. You will learn how to energize your audience, command attention and respect, garner loyalty and success as a speaker and as storyteller. Why have some television personalities, newscasters and public speakers commanded our attention, respect and loyalty for decades, while others never seem to connect with an audience? This book answers those questions by revealing the powerful trade secrets anchors, reporters and weathercasters have used over the years to compel audiences to listen and to propel their careers. As a performance coach and media consultant for over 30 years, Bill Cakmis has mentored award-winning communicators in every high-profile profession to success. This book shares those secrets, creating a comprehensive manual, revealing the techniques and exercises necessary to become a powerful speaker, storyteller, presenter and writer. As the quintessential manual for every communicator, you will learn how to be a powerful speaker with simple techniques to develop and strengthen your storytelling, interpretation, body language, vocal variety, tonality, conversational qualities, dealing with nerves, writing for your audience and interaction skills. You will learn how your character, personality and talent can transcend what's on the page. And you will learn how to be approachable and strong. The great communicators and leaders know how to show and balance both approachability and strength.
