El libro propone, por tanto, un concepto semiótico para entender el género mientras que, desde una perspectiva filosófica, establece conexiones entre el cine de ficción y el de no ficción, caracterizando los rasgos icónicos y los efectos en la interpretación de la realidad sobre los que trabaja la imagen.
